Welcome from the Director
I am thrilled to introduce to you the Bayou City Ballet School! Opening this school has been a longtime dream of mine, and I am filled with immense gratitude to everyone who helped me along the way to realizing this vision. Our mission is to share the beauty of this classical art form with the entire community. Our exceptional faculty provides the highest quality ballet education available, and the limited class sizes allow for personalized instruction. I encourage you to explore our website, drop us a line, or call with any questions you have.
With great warmth,
School Year Programs
Beginning at age 4, our children's program fosters a love of dance by providing great ballet training in a warm and encouraging environment. We provide your child with the best foundation through a progressive curriculum that prioritizes physical and emotional well-being. Students get to experience the joy of performance through participation in the end-of-year Showcase.
Starting at the Foundations level (minimum age 8), we place students in classes based on ability and physical maturity rather than age. An audition or private assessment is required. The curriculum is carefully designed to ensure students receive complete training that will support a desire to pursue a college dance program or a professional dance career down the road. Performance opportunities include the Nutcracker and Spring Showcase. Advanced students may participate in approved ballet competitions and festivals.
Bayou City Ballet School offers morning ballet classes for the local adult community. Love ballet but have never danced before? Register for one of our 8-week Introduction to Ballet sessions taught by our director. Need a refresher? Try the Beginning Ballet series. Been dancing for years? Drop-in to our intermediate/advanced open class. There are classes for everyone in the community at all levels! Our highly qualified instructors strive to give each student attention and will help ensure placement in the correct class.
We know how important it is for young male ballet dancers to feel supported in their pursuit of dance, which is often not fully understood by their peers. That is why we offer ballet classes specifically for boys, taught by highly qualified male faculty. While boys are welcome at all levels of the school, beginning at age 8 the boys' program provides supplemental all-boys classes. When the young men are physically ready, they begin to receive specialized training in men's ballet technique, pas de deux (partnering), and upper body conditioning.
